The VSR — Latest Generation
On the VSR, router bits, blades, creasing wheels, taps, 3D probe, camera, LASER pointer… All work across the full machine format, with no offset.
Versatility: high speed for small tools, high torque for large tools. The VSR spindle optimally handles completely different jobs while rarely using full power.
Oversized brushless AC servo motors for milling (strength and rigidity) and tangential cutting (high speed and acceleration). 26-bit encoder position control. Speed up to 74,000 mm/min.
Multi-zone vacuum table (12 zones on the VS2010R and VS2020R, 24 zones on the VS2030R and VS2040R). Each zone is dynamically controlled by software during cutting, maximizing hold and reducing power consumption.
Vacuum is continuously monitored and the software modulates turbine power. Example: Dibond® letters cut with only 800 W. Savings can exceed €400/month. Boost mode up to 10 kW for difficult parts.
Print-to-cut front/back. The machine scans printed marks and sheet angles. Caldera® compatible. Illustrator plugins included in VERSO CAM.
For materials with variable thickness (e.g. cast PMMA), the 3D probe maps the sheet before automatically corrected machining.
24-tool ISO 30 magazine for router bits, drills and UTM tools. Multiple safety sensors protect against operator errors.
Ultra-precise electronic probe used automatically. Tool breakage detection. Air jet cleaning before each measurement.
The table probe periodically records geometry to compensate for defects. The VSR is one of the few machines capable of Hylite® 1.2 mm hinge work.
Extremely versatile module using the ISO30 changer. Tangential cutting, V-cut, creasing and tapping. Tool holders: tangential blade, oscillating, V-cut (30, 45 or 60°), creasing wheel, tap holder.
Developed and manufactured by VERSO. ARM Cortex µC + VERSO SPEEDDM firmware for high speed and very fine resolutions.
Automatic positioning for optimal chip extraction. Retract mode for ultra-sensitive materials.
A powerful spindle runs fast with small tools and keeps high torque with large ones. Full power is rarely used, but it remains available for hard materials, large thicknesses and large tool diameters.
The UTM (Universal Tangential Module) is the VSR's cutting module: it carries a tangential knife, an oscillating knife, a V-cut tool, a creasing wheel or a tap, with automatic change. It is not available on the LT.
Yes. On the VSR, the spindle and all the UTM tools cover the entire working area, with no loss of travel due to the offset between tools.
74,000 mm/min on the VS2020R, VS2030R and VS2040R, and 35,000 mm/min on the VS2010R, provided that a safety device is connected to the machine's emergency-stop loop. Without this device, the machine is limited to 30,000 mm/min.
VERSOCAM continuously measures the vacuum and modulates the turbine power from 0.8 to 10 kW. Example: 35 cm Dibond® letters were cut with only 800 W of suction. Savings can exceed €400 per month.
The VSR can draw up to 25 kW when needed, but it only uses the minimum turbine power, focused on the area being cut. Example: when cutting expanded PVC or aluminium composite, the machine's total consumption usually stays below 9 kW.
Routine maintenance consists of cleaning the machine with compressed air, then lightly oiling the guide rails, racks and ball screws. The spindle's ISO30 taper is cleaned periodically with the special tool supplied; also keep tool holders clean and always remove any tool holder that makes a vibration noise when rotating, to protect the spindle bearings. These steps are explained during training.
There is no precise limit. When properly maintained, a VERSO machine can run for 10 to 15 years before replacing the transmissions may need to be considered, which is an entirely realistic job on this type of machine.
The gantry is more than 150 mm above the table. For machining itself, the conventional limit is 80 mm: see the materials pages.
No. On VERSO machines, neither the table nor the spoilboard needs to be surfaced: probing the table geometry ensures perfect depth control in all circumstances. Customers mainly use a PUR foam mat or 6 to 8 mm MDF. PUR mats are calibrated and of constant thickness; MDF can stay on the table during the table probing cycle, which takes its possible (minimal) thickness variations into account.
